An anthology of poems of the Wye Valley and Welsh Borders. The poetry is arranged in seven sections, reflecting many aspects of the magical landscape of the River Wye and the Welsh Marches - the river, places, day and night, seasons and weather, trees and flowers, birds, people.
The work of over thirty writers includes poetry by Frances Horovitz, Anne Stevenson, national poet of Wales, Gillian Clarke, Margiad Evans, Glen Cavaliero, Dymock Poets Edward Thomas and John Drinkwater, and Billy Collins - US poet laureate and poet in residence at Ledbury Poetry Festival, 2010.
The collection also includes four R.S.Thomas poems, The River, The Parish, A Blackbird Singing and The Fisherman, plus contributions by local and Welsh poets including Ruth Bidgood, Hilary Llewellyn-Williams, Angela Morton, Anna Cluysenaar, Elizabeth Garrett, Paul Groves, Sam Harcombe, Anna Wigley, and Phil McKelliget. A number of other talented local Herefordshire poets, some of whom have not previously been published, are also included.
